Day 6 - Your Auto Policy:

Collision Coverage – Collision coverage will pay to fix your vehicle if you’re involved in an accident; minus your deductible. There is an exception; any animal accident falls under comprehensive. The most popular deductible is $500 but I always suggest that you set your deductible at what you think you’ll be able to pay out if an accident were to occur.

There are 3 types of collision coverage in Michigan:

Standard – You pay your deductible no matter who is at fault.

Broadform – You only pay your deductible if you are at fault.

Limited – If you’re at fault, nothing pays out. If you are not at fault, your vehicle gets fixed with whatever deductible you chose.
